A Winning Partnership for Rugby & Community Impact

Kenya’s rugby warriors, Shujaa, just got a major boost ahead of their HSBC Sevens campaign, thanks to a KES 2.6 million sponsorship from Crown Paints PLC!

The deal includes KES 1.6 million in cash and KES 1 million in in-kind support to the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU), covering pitch markings, facility refurbishments, and a special school painting initiative under Crown Paints’ CSR program.

But it’s more than just a sponsorship—it’s a statement of belief in Kenya’s rugby talent. As part of the partnership, Crown Paints’ branding will be prominently displayed on Shujaa’s shorts in three major tournaments: Hong Kong (March 28-30), Singapore (April 5-6), and Los Angeles (May 3-4).

Backing Shujaa, Backing the Game

Crown Paints PLC Chief Operating Officer, Richard Muturi, couldn’t have put it better. “We are thrilled to support Shujaa as they take on the world’s best. Rugby is about resilience, teamwork, and national pride—values that we, at Crown Paints, hold close. This isn’t just about sports; it’s about uplifting communities and strengthening Kenya’s rugby ecosystem.”

The backing comes at a crucial time. Shujaa has been on fire in the HSBC Sevens 2025 series, battling top-tier teams with undeniable grit. They made a statement in Dubai, clinching a crucial win against Canada and putting up thrilling performances against South Africa and Fiji.

In Cape Town, they pushed even further, making it to the Cup quarterfinals after a solid win over Spain and a draw against Australia. Their Perth campaign saw them narrowly miss a semi-final spot but claim vital wins against Samoa and the USA.

Onward to Glory!

As they prepare for their next challenges in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Los Angeles, the boys are laser-focused on one goal—breaking into the top-tier rankings and making Kenya proud on the global stage.

With Crown Paints in their corner, Shujaa is not just playing for points; they’re playing for something bigger—pride, passion, and the future of Kenyan rugby.Game on, Shujaa!
