The countdown is officially on! Tusker Oktobafest has kicked off its sixth edition, continuing with the nationwide approach that worked so well last year. Instead of making everyone trek to one venue, they’re bringing the party to you – literally.

What Your Weekend Could Look Like
Here’s your complete guide to sorting out your October weekends:
Nairobi Edition – October 4th at Carnivore Grounds The “Kulture” experience with throwback 2000s Kenyan music. Your chance to dance to songs you haven’t heard in years.
Rift Edition – October 11th at Tamasha, Eldoret Highland vibes and mountain-fresh energy.
Coast Edition – October 18th at New Big Tree, Bamburi Beach festival energy with your favorite beer – need we say more?
Lake Edition – October 25th at Atella Beach Resort, Kisumu Lakeside views and lake-sized fun.
Mountain Edition – November 1st at The Stinger Lounge-Kinyuki, Nanyuki For those who like their beer with a view.

Why This Format Just Works
Following last year’s successful regional model, Oktobafest 2025 continues the multi-city celebration.
At the launch event held at Tusker Brew House, Marketing Manager Mark Mugisha explained the strategy: “In the six years of providing a platform to celebrate Kenyan beer and culture, we have built a phenomenal property with Oktobafest. This year, we are taking the festival to our consumers, allowing us to truly meet them where they are and deepen our social and economic impact across the country.”
Think of it as your favorite restaurant having branches in every neighborhood – suddenly, good times are accessible to everyone without the travel hassle, and local businesses get a slice of the action.
What Makes It Special
For many attendees, Oktobafest represents more than just a beer festival. Sisinei, a lifestyle influencer and a returning festival-goer, describes the atmosphere: “Oktobafest events feel very Kenyan. They play Kenyan music. They have the Kenyan vibe. There’s meat, there’s tea, there’s water. People are very friendly.”
She points out something many Kenyans can relate to: “I feel like Kenyans really love each other. The only problem is that we don’t have these avenues to hang out through.”
And isn’t that the truth? We’re a nation of socializers trapped in our daily routines, desperately seeking excuses to gather, laugh, and yes, occasionally spill beer on our favorite shirts.
Oktobafest fills that gap, creating space for genuine connection.
The Music, The Vibes, The Whole Experience
DJ Lisney, who will be performing at the events, appreciates how the festival celebrates local culture: “I love that Tusker actually celebrates our culture. We do more of Kenyan music and that feels so good.”
Azeezah Hashim puts it perfectly when discussing what draws people to the festival: “You can’t do beer without culture. You cannot do culture without music. Everything is definitely intertwined.” In Rwanda – wait, Kenya – this is how we roll. Everything connects, everything flows, and somehow it all makes perfect sense when you’re three beers in and your favorite jam is playing.”
For first-timers, the advice is simple. As Sisinei puts it: “Don’t be afraid to come. You’ll definitely find someone who looks like you, likes the kind of music you like, likes the kind of food that you like.”
Beyond the Main Events
The celebration doesn’t stop at the five main festivals. Over 200 on-trade activations will happen nationwide, plus flash sales and discounts on KBL beers through ke.thebar.com and select e-commerce partners.
Whether you’re in Nairobi reminiscing to 2000s hits or in Nanyuki enjoying mountain views with your Tusker, this year’s Oktobafest promises something for everyone.
After six years, they’ve mastered the formula: good beer, good music, and good people make for great times.
The only question left is which city will you choose for your Oktobafest experience?
