The Hub Karen marked its ninth anniversary with a colourful Food Festival that treated shoppers to a weekend of great food, culture, and entertainment.
The festival, which started on July 26th, featured over 10 local and international food vendors serving a wide range of dishes — from traditional African meals to Japanese sushi, Indian and Mexican cuisine, fast food favourites, gourmet coffees, and sweet desserts.
There were also family-friendly activities, live cooking demos with top chefs, and traditional dances that added a cultural touch to the celebration.
The highlight of the day was a cake-cutting ceremony attended by The Hub Karen’s General Manager Jacobus Visser, mall staff, and selected tenants. “We are proud to celebrate nine years of delivering world-class experiences to our customers. We continue to grow each year and remain committed to giving our customers the very best – as Nairobi’s leading destination for shopping, dining, and family entertainment,” said Jacobus Visser.
“Thank you to every tenant, partner, employee, and customer who has been part of our 9-year journey. This is just the beginning of an exciting new chapter – one of continued innovation, growth, and shared experiences.”
This year’s anniversary also came with exciting new store openings, including Natural Lamu, a handmade skincare and perfume brand founded by Mr. Manuel Silvestre, and MINISO, which launched its new-look African flagship store.
The Hub Karen officially opened in May 2016 and has since become one of Nairobi’s top retail and leisure spaces. It now hosts over 95 local and international tenants including clothing stores, clinics, gyms, toy shops, cosmetic and sports stores, entertainment at The Hub Park, and a tyre centre.
