When Guinness Smooth said they were redefining self-expression with their new “Make It Yours” campaign, they meant every word — and I had the pleasure of witnessing it firsthand!
A Night Where Creativity Ruled
Held at the stylish Konqa254 in Nairobi on April 24th, the launch wasn’t just an event; it was a full-blown experience. It invited the next generation of Guinness drinkers to reimagine their world through creativity, self-expression, and community-inspired collaboration.
The vibe was purely electric from the moment I walked in — a bold mix of music, fashion, and that unmistakable Guinness spirit.

Immersive Pop-Up Experiences
The venue had been transformed into a vibrant canvas of self-expression. Everywhere you turned, there was something exciting happening: interactive pop-up stations for fashion styling, makeup artistry, and nail art, each ready to let guests quite literally “make it theirs.”
It wasn’t just about watching — it was about participating, creating, and letting your personal style shine.

Fashion Takes Center Stage
Building on the refreshed brand look introduced earlier this year, the event showcased a bold new identity and a fashion-forward take on what it means to truly make it yours — championing individuality and the reimagination of culture through a new lens.
The fashion presentations were a definite highlight. Kenyan designers Martin Emojong and Lucarindii brought pure magic to life, reimagining fashion using Guinness Smooth’s distinctive colors and elements.

- Emojong, known for blending traditional Kenyan textiles with modern silhouettes, presented designs that felt both rooted and revolutionary.
- Lucarindii, celebrated for her bold, colorful streetwear crafted from sustainable materials, injected an edgy, youthful vibrancy into the runway.

Their creations didn’t just speak fashion — they spoke freedom, daring every guest to embrace their authenticity.
A Word from Guinness
Speaking at the launch, Henrietta Reed, Marketing Manager at Guinness, stated: “Nairobi’s vibrant creative scene and its spirit of innovation make it the ideal launchpad for the Guinness Smooth ‘Make It Yours’ campaign. We are thrilled to collaborate with local talent like Luca and Emojong, whose unique perspectives perfectly embody the campaign’s message. ‘Make It Yours’ is an invitation to our consumers to embrace their individuality, connect with their communities, and shape a bolder, more expressive world.”

The Soundtrack of the Night
And what’s a launch without great music? The atmosphere was supercharged with stellar entertainment led by the ever-vibrant Azeezah Hashim as the MC, who kept the crowd hyped and connected. Music producer Cedo took us on a sonic journey, blending classic hits with modern bangers that had everyone on their feet.

Same Smooth Taste, Bold New Look
Beyond the excitement of the fashion shows and performances, there was one reassuring constant: while Guinness Smooth’s visual identity has been refreshed, the signature smooth taste remains untouched — a perfect balance of roasted barley and sweet malt that fans know and love.
For those wondering where they can get their hands on it, Guinness Smooth is available at Konqa254, Enkarre Lounge, Tamasha Eldoret, Geco Café, and other popular spots across the country. It’s also conveniently available online via The Bar KE.

The Beginning of a Bold New Movement
At its core, the “Make It Yours” campaign is a pan-African movement, inviting a new generation to reimagine the world around them through creativity and collaboration.
And if the energy at the launch is anything to go by, that world is about to get a whole lot bolder — and a whole lot smoother.
As someone who loves experiences that combine culture, creativity, and pure fun, I genuinely had a blast. It was the perfect fusion of music, art, fashion, and community — everything Guinness Smooth stands for.
