Beer lovers in Mombasa got a weekend to remember as Tusker Oktobafest brought its nationwide celebration of Kenyan beer, music and culture to 1922, Nyali, pairing KBL’s finest brews with live performances from some of the country’s top homegrown artists.
The Nyali event was the second Oktobafest stop at the Coast and the latest leg of a journey that has already taken the festival through Eldoret, Nanyuki and Nairobi. It also capped off the month of beer in fitting style.
The night opened with Base to Billboardz music collective Keteh, who debuted their party record “Umebant”. Gengetone diva Ssaru followed with a commanding stage presence, before Wakadinali closed the show at full strength, with Scar, Domani Munga, Sir Bwoy and Sewersydaa on stage.
Entry was free, giving revellers an easy way to gather, enjoy their favourite Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) beers across lagers, stouts, ciders and malts, and bond over a shared love of music and culture.
Reflecting on the event’s success, Rediet Yigezu, Marketing Manager at Kenya Breweries Limited, said, “The overwhelming turnout at today’s event and previous editions across the country are a testament to the growing need for authentic, local experiences accessible to consumers wherever they are, and reaffirms our decision to scale the festival to a nationwide celebration. We are excited to extend this celebration beyond the month of beer to reach even more of our consumers.”
The party continues in November
The festival will carry its celebration of beer and culture into November, with stops in several towns over the coming weeks:
- Nebraska Ugunja – 7th November
- Space Next Door, Nakuru – 14th November
- Big Tree, Mombasa – 21st November
Fans can also look out for flash sales and exclusive discounts on their favourite KBL beers, covering lagers, stouts, ciders and malts, available at supermarkets and select e-commerce partners.
